This video covers the initial steps after getting briefed by the game designer. It also introduces some of roles that are involved in the creation of a level within a studio (this will vary depending on team size, philosophy, structure and many other factors).
I am drawing from my previous experience in both architecture and level design. I am using Unity game engine to illustrate this process throughout this tutorial series, however some of the fundamental concepts can be applied to any other game engine.
